How do Commercial Publishers fit into Future Publishing

The world of scientific publishing has been changing in the last decade, and probably will do so for another decade. New technologies provide exciting new capabilities. And efforts for more Open Access change the basis of publishing models. This contribution will describe some of the technological innovations that Springer is working on, like Author Mapper. It will also touch on some of the issues that arise from the efforts to prove more open access to the scientific literature.
